COLORBOND® steel Scribed Ridges
Character Roofing offers clients the option of having scribed ridge capping, a practice quite common on traditional heritage iron roofs. The process involves scalloping the ridge capping edge breaks to the profile of the corrugated iron roofing. Scribing occurs on the ridge and hip areas of the roofing. Associated roof flashings are scribed to match the scribed ridge cappings. Tradesmen use tinsnips or electric shears onsite to complete the scribing work.
To Scribe or Not to Scribe? The choice is yours.
- Most modern newly built homes with Corrugated roofs have un-scribed ridge caps, reducing the installation costs.
- Scribe for Bushfire protection (Important: refer to building code).
- Scribing compliments the heritage restoration of a building.
- Some people prefer the aesthetics of a scribed ridge.
